Located in Ealing, London, the Northfield allotments were originally known as the Ealing Dean Common Allotments when they were established in 1832. SOME ALLOTMENTS ARE LOST FOR NEW PLEASURE GARDENS

Dean gardens are created and Haslemere Allotments comes into being, The local horticultural show comes to an end as WW1 begins.

DIG FOR VICTORY CAMPAIGN INCREASES EALING ALLOTMENTS

AFTER THE WAR, A DECLINE IN POPULARITY

The advent of supermarkets and cheaper food leads to a decline in allotments. Over 50% of Northfields allotments were lost to housing.
